A serial shoplifter has been sentenced to eight weeks behind bars for stealing alcohol from a Sainsbury’s store in Cwmbran.
Imtiaz Fazal, 40, of Church Road, Newport, carried out the theft on April 13, taking £200 worth of alcohol from the supermarket.
Court hearing
Fazal admitted the offence when he appeared before Newport Magistrates’ Court, where he was handed the custodial sentence.
He was also ordered to pay £200 in compensation to Sainsbury’s.
