A persistent offender has been jailed after stealing more than £290 worth of goods from shops in Newport city centre.
Lee Ball, 42, from Clytha Square, struck seven times in just over a month:
- December 29: Dental goods worth £54 from Boots
- January 16: Goods worth £40 from Boots
- January 23: Dental items worth £24.10 from Boots
- January 24: Three coats from Primark worth £66
- January 27: Listerine and UltraDEX worth £23 from Boots
- January 29: Colgate toothpaste worth £32
- January 30: Protein items worth £54 from Boots
The court heard that Ball, who has previous convictions for robbery, affray, possession of a bladed article in public and shoplifting, will serve 28 weeks in prison.
Newport Magistrates’ Court also ordered him to pay compensation to the affected stores upon his release. ⚖️
