Newport man jailed for unprovoked attacks on two in Cardiff

A 30-year-old from Newport has been given a custodial sentence after admitting to carrying out a pair of unprovoked attacks in Cardiff.

Michael George, of Church Road, Newport, appeared before Newport Magistrates’ Court where he pleaded guilty to two counts of assault by beating.

The assaults

The court heard that George attacked both a man and a woman on May 5, with the offences described as “unprovoked.”

Sentence

George was handed a 24-week prison sentence for the assaults. He was also ordered to pay £200 in compensation to his two victims.
