A Newport man has been sent to prison following a series of thefts from high street stores. 🔐

Craig Williams, 41, appeared before Newport Magistrates’ Court where he admitted stealing make-up and a Gillette gift set from Boots, as well as a jacket from TK Maxx. He also pleaded guilty to attempting to steal a Michael Kors coat.

The court heard that Williams committed these offences between 12th November and 3rd February while already serving a suspended sentence.

District Judge Sophie Toms sentenced Williams, of Albert Street, to 27 weeks in prison and ordered him to pay compensation to the affected stores.
