🎢 One of Pembrokeshire’s most thrilling attractions is being dismantled after more than 20 years of making waves at Oakwood Theme Park.

The park has officially confirmed that Drenched, the high-speed water ride known for its dramatic 85-degree drop, is being retired from the attraction.

Speaking to the Western Telegraph, an Oakwood spokesperson said: “We can confirm that after 20 plus years of operation, Drenched has been retired from the Oakwood Theme Park offering, and is being dismantled. We look forward to sharing other park updates when we commence the build up to the 2025 season.”

The ride, which first opened as Hydro in 2002, underwent significant safety modifications in 2004, including the addition of over-the-shoulder restraints. It was later rebranded as Drenched in 2011.

Theme park enthusiasts first spotted the dismantling when photos emerged on towerstimes.com showing three large cranes surrounding the partially dismantled structure.

One enthusiast shared their thoughts: “Really sad to see, but not overly surprising. As someone who really loves the park and has such nostalgia for it, it’s so painful to see the lack of any investment from the parent company.”
