Family pay tribute to motorcyclist killed in A487 crash

The family of a 22-year-old motorcyclist who died following a collision on the A487 Cardigan bypass have remembered him as a “gentle giant” with a bright future ahead of him.

Alfie Copeland lost his life after his Yamaha YZF R7 motorbike was involved in a crash with a Volkswagen Transporter van on Saturday afternoon in Ceredigion.

Family tribute

Paying tribute, Mr Copeland’s family said: “Alfie was bright, happy, hilarious, adventurous, ambitious, kind and a gentle giant. He had a bright future and so many plans. We will never stop missing him, always in our hearts.”

The incident

Officers from Dyfed-Powys Police were called just after 1.05pm to reports of the collision on the A487 northbound, near the junction of Caemorgan Road.

A police spokeswoman said: “The rider of the motorbike was airlifted to hospital where he sadly died of his injuries. No other injuries were reported.”

Witness appeal 🚨

Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.

The spokeswoman added: “Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone with dash-cam footage that could support their investigation.”
