Serial shoplifter Cara Knight has been sentenced to 32 weeks in prison after stealing food and nine bottles of Lenor fabric conditioner from businesses in Cwmbran.

The 24-year-old targeted Heron Foods and a Premier store between April 19 and May 10, prosecutor Lucy Goodridge told Newport Magistrates’ Court.

Knight, of Trem Twynbarlwm, Two Locks, Cwmbran, was already subject to a 16-week suspended prison sentence for similar offences imposed last month.

District Judge Sophie Toms activated the suspended sentence and ordered Knight to pay compensation to the affected businesses.
