A Cardiff drug dealer who profited more than £210,000 from cocaine sales has been ordered to repay just £17,483 of his criminal earnings – or face an additional two years behind bars.

Marcell Bridgeman, 24, was found with designer goods including Louis Vuitton bags and Valentino trainers when police raided his Fairwater home in December 2023. Officers caught the dealer throwing mobile phones from an upstairs window. 📱

During the search, police discovered £11,500 in cash and cannabis worth up to £11,780, alongside his luxury clothing collection featuring multiple designer brands including Balenciaga.

Analysis of the seized phones revealed Bridgeman had spent £170,000 purchasing six kilos of cocaine for resale.

The defendant, of Roche Crescent, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine and cannabis. He was sentenced to seven years and four months imprisonment at Cardiff Crown Court in June 2024.

At Friday’s Proceeds of Crime Act hearing, Judge Paul Hopkins KC determined that while Bridgeman had benefited by £210,193 from his crimes, his available assets totalled just £17,483.
