A 29-year-old man has been sentenced to 18 months in prison after admitting to the sexual assault of a child under 13.
Matthew Thomas, of Dewstow Road, Caldicot, pleaded guilty to assaulting a boy under 13 by touching at Newport Crown Court.
Prosecutor Andrew Davies told the court that the offence took place in May last year.
Judge Carl Harrison handed Thomas an 18-month custodial sentence and ordered him to sign the sex offenders’ register for 10 years.
A five-year restraining order was also put in place, along with a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.
