A 26-year-old man has been sentenced to 12 months in prison after stealing clothing and cigarettes from a property in Rhos-on-Sea. 🚔
Oliver Crossley, of Queen’s Park, Colwyn Bay, appeared at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 30 June, where he pleaded guilty to burglary and possession of Class A and B drugs.
The break-in occurred on Saturday, 28 June at a property on First Avenue, Rhos-on-Sea, and was reported shortly after 6pm. Officers quickly arrested Crossley and another male after they were located nearby using a description of two suspects.
Crossley was also arrested for assaulting a police officer during his apprehension. The other arrested man denies involvement and remains under investigation.
Detective Inspector Rich Evans said: “This case demonstrates the effectiveness of swift, coordinated policing and our commitment to tackling acquisitive crime head-on.
“Thanks to the rapid response of officers and the support of vigilant members of the public, a suspect was quickly apprehended and brought before the courts within 48 hours of the offence.
“This outcome reflects North Wales Police’s proactive approach to dealing with burglary and other acquisitive crimes.
“We are determined to protect our communities, bring offenders to justice quickly, and send a clear message that such criminal behaviour will not be tolerated.
