A prolific thief who targeted supermarkets, a games shop and vehicles across Bridgend for nearly half a year is now behind bars.

Jordan Robson, 32, was handed a 26-week prison sentence at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, April 14, after admitting 11 counts of theft and one count of theft from a motor vehicle.

The offences

Robson’s offending spanned November 2025 to April 2026, during which he stole more than £1,000 worth of goods from seven different stores across the Bridgend area.

Stores targeted

Sainsbury’s in Bridgend was hit three times, with Robson walking out with over £300 of meat across the raids. He also stole £210 worth of boxsets from Firestorm Games and more than £200 of goods from the Co-op at Parc Derwen.

Further thefts included £140 of items from One Stop in Brackla, £87 from Lidl in Tondu and £51 from Tesco in Bridgend.

Vehicle thefts

Alongside the shop offences, Robson was charged in connection with a series of thefts from cars in the Rushfield and Springfield Gardens area of the town.

Arrest and sentencing

Officers captured the moment Robson attempted to flee as they moved to arrest him. He went on to plead guilty to all charges and was jailed last week.

Police response

Bridgend Neighbourhood Police Sergeant Daniel Parry said: “Robson targeted stores and cars across Bridgend for months and thanks to a thorough investigation run by our neighbourhood policing team will now serve time in jail.”

“Businesses in our community deserve to be able to trade without worrying about theft.”
