A 38-year-old man has been sentenced to five years behind bars after police uncovered cannabis alongside designer footwear and luxury watches during a search of his home.

The search

Christopher Williams, of Mountain Ash, sped off in his Volkswagen Golf when officers arrived at the address in January 2026. Despite his departure, police pressed on with the search of the property.

What officers found

Inside the house, officers discovered several clear bags of cannabis together with weighing scales. They also recovered a number of high-value items, among them Nike shoes and Rolex watches.

Arrest

Williams later returned to the address, where he was taken into custody. His Volkswagen Golf was subsequently located and searched, with more expensive footwear found inside.

Sentencing

Appearing at Cardiff Crown Court on Friday, April 10, Williams pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cannabis, dangerous driving, and acquiring/using criminal property. He received a five-year prison sentence alongside a two-year driving ban. It marked his third conviction for possession with intent to supply cannabis within the past five years.

Police response

Police Constable Cameron Allcock said:

“This was Williams’ third offence within the last five years; he will now serve a much longer sentence because of this.

“We continue to tackle local drug supply across the force and any intelligence you have could be of vital importance so please report it to us.”
