A 44-year-old man has been locked up for two and a half years following a string of offences in the Bangor area last December, including breaking into a home.
The offences
Simon Lilley carried out a series of incidents across Bangor in December last year, with residential burglary among the charges he faced. Officers responding to the incidents were able to locate and arrest Lilley close to the scene, recovering a number of stolen items in his possession.
Sentencing
Lilley, of no fixed abode, appeared at Caernarfon Crown Court on Thursday, where he was sentenced to two and a half years in custody after being convicted of multiple offences.
Police response
District Inspector Jamie Owens said: “I want to thank the officers involved for their tireless work over many months to bring this case to court.
“This outcome reflects significant investigative effort and close working with the Crown Prosecution Service.
“Burglary is a deeply distressing crime that can have a lasting emotional impact on victims. It has absolutely no place in our communities.
“We will continue to relentlessly pursue those who commit burglary and bring offenders before the courts.
“I would also like to take the opportunity thank the members of the public who supported officers during this investigation.”
