A 17-year-old boy who tragically lost his life following an incident in Caerphilly has been named by police as Tristan Shae Kerr from Abertridwr.
The teenager died after emergency services were called to a property on Lower Francis Street at approximately 5:45pm on Thursday, 5 February. Gwent Police immediately launched a murder investigation and have since arrested five people in connection with the case.
All five individuals currently remain in police custody as detectives continue their enquiries in the area.
Detective Chief Inspector Jitka Tomkova-Griffiths, the senior investigating officer, provided an update on the investigation: “Tristan’s family continue to be supported by specialist officers, and our thoughts remain with them and his friends at this difficult time.
“Officers remain in the area to carry out their enquiries and five people remain in police custody.
“While we understand reports like these are concerning, it is important that people do not speculate about the identities of those involved as this could present problems to our investigation.
“If anyone has any information, however, please speak to our officers or contact us in the usual way.”
Gwent Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist with their ongoing investigation.
