A Swansea drug dealer who told police “I’m an addict and this is why I does what I does” has been jailed for two years and eight months after being caught dealing cocaine in the city centre. 🚔

Keiron David was spotted acting suspiciously by officers on foot patrol in Wind Street at 9pm on Saturday, March 8. When PC Howarth and a colleague approached him, David tried to flee but was quickly detained.

Small bags of white powder, which turned out to be cocaine, fell from David’s underwear as he was being searched. Despite his claims that the drugs were for personal use, a subsequent search of his Eaton Road home revealed more cocaine, digital scales, and evidence of drug dealing on his phone.

David, 41, of Eaton Road, Swansea, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine, possessing cocaine with intent to supply, and possessing cocaine. He was sentenced at Swansea Crown Court on Wednesday, May 14.

PC Howarth, the officer in the case, said: “Our officers are patrolling Swansea’s busy town centre day and night to ensure it is safe for revellers. Keiron David was drug dealing in plain sight and with total disregard. As police officers we know who and what we are looking for and it was only a matter of time before he was caught. So now he will spend time in prison where he can reflect on the choices he has made.” ⚖️
