A woman’s attempt to flee from police after being caught dealing drugs in Swansea city centre came to an abrupt halt when she drove straight into a dead-end street 🚗💨
Hayley Hughes, 42, from Portmead, was spotted by plain-clothed officers on 14th April engaging in what appeared to be a drug deal.
A South Wales Police spokesperson said: “When approached she sped off in her car but ended up driving down a dead-end street where she was detained.”
Officers discovered Hughes in possession of two ounces of cocaine split into individual deal amounts, 3.35 grams of amphetamine, and more than £500 in cash. Analysis of her mobile phone revealed her heavy involvement in supplying cocaine to Swansea communities.
Hughes pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply a Class A drug and acquiring criminal property at Swansea Crown Court, where she was sentenced to two years and four months in prison.
A police spokesperson said: “We have plain clothes patrols across south Wales every day looking out for criminal activity like this.”
