A 21-year-old man who disguised himself as a food delivery cyclist to supply drugs across Cardiff has been sentenced to three years and nine months in prison 🚴‍♂️⚖️

Saeef Miah, of Cymric Close, Ely, was caught red-handed by plain clothes officers during a proactive bike patrol in Roath on 17 May 2023. The officers became suspicious when they spotted Miah cycling slowly around a children’s play area, frequently checking his phone before stopping to take a call.

Despite the warm weather, Miah was dressed in a large coat, balaclava and waterproof trousers, and carried a large food delivery bag – behaviour that immediately raised red flags for the experienced officers.

When searched, officers discovered over 100 grip seal bags containing white powder, white crystalline substances, brown crystalline substances, and 51 tablets hidden in his delivery bag.

Miah pleaded guilty at Cardiff Crown Court on 27 May to multiple drug supply offences including possession with intent to supply Class A drugs cocaine and MDMA, Class B drug ketamine, and being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

Investigating officer Police Constable Robert Gadd said: “We have proactive intelligence patrols across south Wales every day looking out for criminal activity like this. I’m pleased to see this sentence allotted to him today and hope this allows him the time to reflect on his actions.”

The case highlights the ongoing efforts by South Wales Police to tackle drug-related crime across the region through targeted patrols and intelligence-led operations.
