A man who crossed a street to stab a stranger, a driver who killed a father in a hit-and-run on Christmas Eve eve, and a care worker who sent sexually explicit AI-generated videos to what he thought was a 14-year-old girl were among those jailed in Wales this week. Courts across the country also dealt with multiple drug supply operations, a planned ambush that left a man with a fractured jaw, and a serial restraining order breacher convicted for the 24th time.

Violent offences

Walter Kanhukamwe, 24, of Ely, Cardiff, was sentenced to six years in prison with an extended three-year licence period after stabbing a man outside his home. Kanhukamwe had watched the victim before crossing the road and attacking him with a kitchen knife. He was convicted of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm at Cardiff Crown Court.

Summer Marl-Brock, 21, lured her ex-boyfriend to a late-night meeting in Ewloe, where her cousin David Brock, 38, and Aaron Evans, 34, ambushed him in his car. The victim suffered a fractured jaw, bite marks and facial injuries. All three admitted wounding with intent at Mold Crown Court. Brock was jailed for seven years and two months, Evans for six years and three months, and Marl-Brock received 54 months.

Dangerous driving

Drug offences

Craig Jones and Rhys Probert, both 40, were each jailed for three years and nine months at Cardiff Crown Court for possession with intent to supply heroin and cocaine on the streets of Newport. Jordan Hamilton, 31, of Trebanos, Pontardawe, was jailed for 33 months at Swansea Crown Court after admitting being concerned in the supply of cocaine and cannabis from his home. Police found drug paraphernalia and incriminating messages on his phone linking him to dealing. His partner Gemma Davies, 36, awaits sentencing.

Bleu Stean-Tannis, 40, of Mount Pleasant, Swansea, was jailed for 32 months at Swansea Crown Court after police found a cannabis growing operation across three bedrooms of his home, with 48 plants worth up to £20,000. He had been released on licence from a previous sentence for grievous bodily harm.

Kamber Murrja, 24, of Heston, was sentenced to 30 weeks at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court after pleading guilty to cannabis cultivation.
