A serial shoplifter has been jailed for 20 weeks after targeting multiple stores across Conwy and Denbighshire.
Steven Lavelle, 57, of South Parade, Pensarn, appeared before Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 9 October, where he pleaded guilty to nine separate counts of theft from a shop.
The offences took place between 17 September and 8 October 2025 at the Co-op store in Pensarn, the Go Local convenience store in Abergele, Spar in Abergele, and the B&M store in Rhyl.
A North Wales Police Denbighshire Coastal and Abergele spokesperson said: “A 57-year-old man has been jailed for multiple shoplifting offences in Denbighshire and Conwy. Steven Lavelle, of South Parade, Pensarn, appeared before Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 9 October.
“He was charged with nine separate counts of theft from a shop, offences that took place between 17 September and 8 October 2025.
“The incidents occurred at the Co-op store in Pensarn, the Go Local convenience store in Abergele, Spar in Abergele, and B&M store in Rhyl. Lavelle pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison.”
