Porthmadog man jailed for emergency worker assault

A 42-year-old man has been sentenced to ten weeks in prison following an incident in Porthmadog last month.

Mark Christopher Axon, of Glan y Mor campsite, Morfa Bychan, was involved in the incident on Sunday, 24 August, North Wales Police said on its Gwynedd South Facebook page.

He was arrested at a campsite in Morfa Bychan and convicted at Llandudno Magistrates Court of assaulting an emergency worker, being drunk and disorderly, and possession of a controlled Class B substance.

North Wales Police added: “We thank the community and all those who assisted officers during the investigation. Your support continues to play a vital role in helping us keep Gwynedd South safe.” 👮
