A 38-year-old man from Pontypridd has been sentenced to four years and three months in prison after admitting his involvement in the supply of cocaine across the Rhondda Cynon Taf area.

Lee Scarfe pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine at Cardiff Crown Court on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.

The investigation

South Wales Police began looking into a drugs line operating in Rhondda Cynon Taf when they identified a phone number linked to Scarfe.

On January 8, 2025, officers spotted Scarfe driving a car in the Barry area. He was stopped and arrested at the scene.

What officers found

A search of the vehicle uncovered a bag containing £4,000 in cash. Officers also seized Scarfe’s phone, and when the data was downloaded, messages were found connecting him to the supply of cocaine.

Police response

PC Rhodri Wilson said: “These illegal drugs have devastating consequences on the people further down the chain who end up using them, not to mention their family, friends and wider communities.

“We will continue to investigate any information you have which could relate to the sale or use of these drugs.”

Scarfe was sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court to four years and three months behind bars.
