A 53-year-old woman from Bridgend has been sentenced to more than two years behind bars for her role in supplying cocaine.

Michelle Deere appeared at Cardiff Crown Court on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, where she pleaded guilty to three charges – being concerned in the supply of cocaine, possession of cocaine, and possession of amphetamines.

How the investigation began

The case originated from work carried out by South Wales Police’s organised crime unit, which had been examining drug supply activity connected to the Britannia Hotel in Pencoed. Through that investigation, Deere was identified as a suspected link in the cocaine supply chain.

The search

Officers attended a property in Bridgend where Deere was found and placed under arrest. A search of the address uncovered multiple clear bags containing white powder, along with scales that also bore traces of white powder.

The sentence

Deere was handed a prison term of two years and three months for her offences.

PC Jonathan Jones said: “Michelle Deere saw Class A drugs as a ‘get-rich-quick’ scheme, only to find out that they were in fact even more effective as a ‘go-to-jail-quick’ scheme.

“Drugs blight our communities and Michelle was playing her part in bringing that misery to the streets of Bridgend.

“She is deservedly embarking on a spell in prison.”
