South Wales Police have seized over £2,200 in cash and 97 grams of cannabis following a successful operation in Pentwyn, with police dog Scout playing a key role in the discovery 🐕

Following information about drug dealing in the area, officers have been carrying out proactive patrols around known hotspots. During a recent search, PD Scout alerted handlers to a satchel bag concealed in undergrowth containing the substantial cash haul and cannabis.

Earlier in the week, five deal-size bags of suspected Class A drugs were also recovered after being hidden amongst undergrowth, all now removed from Pentwyn’s streets.

South Wales Police said: “Ok, ok, it was us who let the dogs out… on this occasion PD Scout. Following information received around drug dealing in the Pentwyn area, proactive patrols have been – and will continue to be – carried out around hot spot locations.”

They added: “We can, and as shown here, regularly act upon the information provided to us by the public, so please keep it coming and continue to work with us.” 💙
