Officers in the Cynon Valley say their push against the illegal use of off-road bikes is still very much live, with a number of machines taken off the road as part of the ongoing work.
The operation
Neighbourhood policing officers covering Cynon are running the operation alongside partner agencies, targeting riders using off-road bikes illegally across the valley. South Wales Police describe the approach as a mix of enforcement and direct engagement with communities, rather than enforcement alone.
Why it matters
The force says the aim is to bring down anti-social behaviour and crime, and to make town centres and residential streets safer for the people who use them. Illegal off-road riding has been a persistent source of complaints in valleys communities, and officers say they will act on every opportunity that presents itself.
Bikes off the road
A number of bikes have been seized in recent weeks as a direct result of the work, according to South Wales Police.
