A woman from Penarth has been ordered to pay £159 after admitting her child did not regularly attend school.
The case
The defendant, who cannot be named to protect her child’s identity, appeared before Cardiff Magistrates’ Court where she pleaded guilty to failing to ensure the pupil attended classes on a regular basis.
The court heard the child’s attendance dropped off towards the end of last year.
The penalty
She was ordered to pay a total of £159, made up of a fine, costs and a surcharge.
