A Newport XL Bully dog named Kenzo is set to be destroyed after its owner failed to comply with a court order requiring proper control of the animal. 📰

Liam Batt, 30, from Malmesbury Close, Newport, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with a court order when he appeared at Newport Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.

The court heard that a contingent destruction order was previously made for the dog on August 2 last year, after Batt admitted possession/having custody of a fighting dog.

For his latest offence, magistrates fined Batt £120 and ordered him to pay £85 in costs. The court also issued a destruction order for the XL Bully, confirming the dog will now be put down. 🧑‍⚖️
