Newport Woman Sentenced for £2.5k Boots Shoplifting Spree

A Newport woman has been sentenced after stealing perfume, make-up and other goods worth more than £2,500 from a Cardiff Boots store last Christmas.

Lisa Bray, 42, of Skinner Street, pleaded guilty to theft at Newport Magistrates’ Court following the incident which took place on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. 🛍️

The court heard how Bray stole perfume bottles, cosmetics, make-up bags and drinks to the value of £2,522 during the shoplifting spree.

She was sentenced to a 12-month community order with a requirement to complete 20 days of rehabilitation activities. Additionally, Bray was fined £40 and ordered to pay a £114 surcharge.

All stolen items were successfully recovered by the store. ✅
