A 28-year-old man from Mountain Ash has been sentenced to 21 months in prison following a disturbing campaign of stalking, harassment, and violence against a victim.
Dominic Wesley was convicted of multiple offences including stalking, harassment with violence, actual bodily harm, threats to kill, and common assault.
The court heard that in March 2019, during a verbal argument at the victim’s home, Wesley grabbed her inappropriately, causing injuries that required medical attention.
The violence escalated in July 2024 when Wesley confronted the victim at her home whilst she was working. After initiating a dispute about her planned girls’ holiday, he physically assaulted her by dragging her down the stairs and threatening to kill her.
On 27th July 2024, at a wedding, Wesley threw a drink at the victim before assaulting her further and making explicit threats to kill her in front of other guests.
The victim also reported that Wesley had been persistently invading her privacy by showing up uninvited at her home, even using a stolen key from his parents’ residence, who are the landlords.
On 31st July 2024, after reviewing CCTV footage that confirmed Wesley’s unauthorised presence in her home, the victim contacted police. Officers promptly arrested him at the scene.
The victim provided a comprehensive statement detailing assault dates, times, locations, and witness names, which formed substantial evidence against Wesley.
South Wales Police said this sentencing serves as a reminder of their commitment to addressing and combating domestic violence and harassment.
