A Newport man has been jailed for three years for his role in supplying crack cocaine.
Blair Bailey, 36, appeared at Cardiff Crown Court on Thursday 16 October where he was sentenced for being concerned in supply of crack cocaine and possession of criminal property after previously pleading guilty.
Investigating officers found mass messages – known as “text bombs” – advertising the sale of drugs on a phone belonging to Bailey.
PC Daniel Cleland, the officer in charge, said: “The phone linked to Bailey showed not only text bombs advertising drugs but included messages organising the sale and collection of drugs.
“The volume of the message clearly demonstrates that Bailey is part of organised operation supplying class A drugs in Newport.
“Illegal drugs have no place in our society, and those involved in the supply often do so solely for financial gain and without any regard for the impact drugs have on our communities.”
If you have any concerns about the supply of drugs, please contact Gwent Police on 101, by sending a direct message on social media, or through their website. You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously online or by phone.
