A Merthyr Tydfil man has been jailed for more than two years after officers caught him fleeing through a field whilst trying to dispose of evidence.

Niall Thomas-Enoch, 27, of Brodawel, was sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, to 2 years and 4 months in prison for supplying crack cocaine and cocaine, as well as acquiring and possessing criminal property.

The Organised Crime Unit investigation began on September 4, 2025, when officers spotted Thomas-Enoch driving a blue VW Golf R through the Pant industrial estate in Merthyr. When OCU officers approached near his mother’s residence, Thomas-Enoch made a run for it but was caught by PC Allcock in a nearby field after discarding several items.

Officers found more than £1,000 in cash on him at the time of arrest. Searches of his vehicle and home uncovered a knife in a sheath, multiple mobile phones, and a VW Golf R worth at least £10,000.

One phone recovered from Thomas-Enoch’s bedroom contained extensive evidence of drug dealing, with bulk messages sent to over 100 contacts advertising: “Shop open about all day dropping stone and flake, cheapest about.”

The high-value items and vehicle suggested Thomas-Enoch was living well beyond his legitimate means, with investigators linking his lifestyle to profits from drug dealing.

Detective Inspector Ian Jones of the OCU stated: “This sentencing serves as a reminder that the supply of illegal drugs will not be tolerated in our communities. We are committed to dismantling drug networks and ensuring that those who profit from this harmful trade face the consequences of their actions. I encourage community members to report any suspicious activities related to drug use or trafficking. Together, we can work towards a safer environment for all.”
