A man is in hospital after being stabbed in a Cardiff park during the early hours of Monday morning.
South Wales Police said the “serious assault” took place at around 5.30am in Llandaff Fields. A 55-year-old man was taken to hospital with stab wounds described as non-life-threatening.
A large section of the park was cordoned off following the attack, with a team of officers seen raking back undergrowth in a search of the area during the afternoon.
Detective Inspector Bob Chambers said: “Understandably the local community, and users of the park, will be concerned by what has taken place. This is an isolated incident, and the motive is currently unknown. Extensive enquiries are ongoing and there will be an increased police presence in the area while we establish the circumstances of this incident. The support of the community is very much appreciated, and we appeal for anyone with information or concerns to please contact police.”
