Girl, 17, dies after collision on A4042 in Cwmbran

A 17-year-old girl has tragically lost her life following a road traffic collision in Cwmbran on Thursday afternoon.

Gwent Police received a report of the incident on the A4042 at around 12.25pm on Thursday 12 February, involving three cars and a pedestrian.

The teenager, from Caldicot, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Her family have been informed.

Following the collision, the road between the Crown and Turnpike roundabouts was partially closed, with one lane heading northbound open. The southbound section was also closed, with diversions put in place.

Gwent Police are appealing for anyone with relevant information, including CCTV or dashcam footage, to come forward.
