A 20-year-old Chepstow man has been handed a suspended sentence after being found in possession of child abuse images, including content featuring victims as young as six months old. ⚖️
A-Jay Stanley, of St David’s Close, was discovered with 42 category A films and photos (the most serious classification), 35 category B and 19 category C images on his mobile phone. Some of the material showed children being restrained while being sexually assaulted by both men and women.
When arrested, Stanley told police: “I’m addicted to porn.”
Newport Crown Court heard that officers also found AI-generated child abuse images and bestiality content on his device. He had also distributed two category C images.
Stanley pleaded guilty to seven charges in total, with the offences committed between July 2, 2023 and October 2, 2024.
During sentencing, Judge Celia Hughes told Stanley: “You must have derived sexual gratification from the images.”
His barrister, Alice Sykes, said: “The defendant has shown genuine remorse and makes no excuses for his behaviour.”
The court heard that Stanley has been assessed as presenting a “low risk of reoffending” by the probation service.
Stanley was sentenced to 10 months in a young offender institution, suspended for 12 months. He must complete 100 hours of unpaid work, attend a 10-day rehabilitation activity requirement and participate in 26 sessions of an accredited programme.
He will remain on the sex offender register for 10 years and is subject to a five-year sexual harm prevention order, during which he will be monitored by police.
The defendant was also ordered to pay £150 prosecution costs and a statutory victim surcharge.
