Caldicot Man Gets Community Order for Child Abuse Images

A Caldicot man has been sentenced to a community order after admitting to possessing child sex abuse images and animal pornography. 📰⚖️

Alex Thomas, 28, of Castle Lea, appeared at Newport Magistrates’ Court where he received an 18-month community order and must register as a sex offender for five years.

The defendant admitted making four category A indecent images of a child, making one category C indecent image of a child, and possession of an extreme pornographic image involving a human and a dog.

His offences were committed between 11th November 2023 and 16th August 2024.

Thomas must complete a 15-day rehabilitation activity requirement and was made subject to a 12-month mental health treatment requirement. He will also pay a £114 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
