A 32-year-old woman has been sentenced to more than eight years in prison following a violent robbery in Cardiff city centre last May.
Christina Wall, from Adamsdown, attacked a lone man in a multi-storey car park, punching and strangling him whilst attempting to gouge his eyes. She threatened the victim with a knife before stealing his mobile phone and wallet.
Detective Constable Carys Davies said: “This was a particularly nasty offence, whereby Christina Wall and others took advantage of a lone man, luring him to a location where he was violently assaulted and robbed of his belongings.
“We must commend the victim for his bravery in reporting the matter to the police and co-operating with the investigation from an early stage.
“We are committed to reducing violent crime, and street robberies such as these will always be investigated thoroughly, with offenders brought to justice. If you experience or witness violent crime, please report it to us as soon as possible. In an emergency, always dial 999.” ⚖️
