A Caerphilly man has been sentenced to six months in prison after sexually assaulting a child under 13 years old.

Andrew Rowe, 47, appeared before Newport magistrates where he admitted to the assault by touching, which occurred on 25th September.

Following his release, Rowe will be subject to a seven-year sexual harm prevention order, restricting his movements. The order specifically prohibits him “from attending places where large numbers of children are likely to be present, such as a play area in a park, sports fields where children’s clubs are participating or leisure facilities such as swimming pools.”

The defendant, who has no fixed address in Llanbradach, must register as a sex offender for seven years.
