A 25-year-old from Caerphilly county borough has been given a suspended prison sentence after admitting to assaulting an emergency worker.
The offence
Jordan Jones, of Bryn Dolwen, Bedwas, spat at a police officer in Ystrad Mynach on March 19.
He pleaded guilty to assault by beating of an emergency worker when he appeared at Newport Magistrates’ Court.
Sentence
Jones was handed a 24-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months.
As part of the sentence, he was ordered to complete 120 hours of unpaid work along with a 10-day rehabilitation activity requirement.
The court also imposed a 90-day alcohol abstinence and monitoring requirement.
Costs
Jones was ordered to pay £300 in compensation to the victim, a £154 surcharge, and £85 in costs.
