A drug dealer from Anglesey is starting a prison sentence after police uncovered a substantial stash of cocaine and cannabis worth over £13,000.
Ricky James Pritchard, 31, from Maes Llwyn in Amlwch, appeared at Caernarfon Crown Court on 23 January where he was sentenced to one year and four months behind bars.
The case began on 27 December when officers pulled over a vehicle being driven by Pritchard close to Amlwch Industrial Estate. A search of his car revealed significant quantities of cocaine and cannabis resin.
Police didn’t stop there. Officers then searched a storage container belonging to Pritchard, where they found even more evidence – a large sum of cash, additional cocaine, several pills, and various items commonly associated with drug dealing.
The total street value of all the drugs seized came to approximately £13,600. Pritchard had previously pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs, as well as acquiring criminal property.
District Inspector Wayne Francis said: “We continue to deliver on our commitment to target those who seek to bring drugs to Anglesey. Proactively stopping and searching individuals is just one way that we are targeting drug supply on the island to protect vulnerable community members. If you have any concerns relating to the supply of drugs in your area, you can make an anonymous report via Crimestoppers.”
