A 21-year-old man has been sent to prison after officers pulled over his car and discovered a haul of illegal drugs, cash and a large kitchen knife.
Connor Wing, from Porthcawl, was jailed for two years and six months at Cardiff Crown Court on Monday, March 2, after pleading guilty to multiple charges.
The stop
Officers on a routine patrol in Porthcawl had reason to stop a silver Vauxhall Corsa being driven by Wing. When they approached the vehicle, Wing appeared agitated and officers could smell cannabis coming from inside the car.
What officers found
A search of the vehicle uncovered a large quantity of cannabis split across multiple bags, a black bag containing a white substance, and a clear bag holding a white glue-like substance. Officers also recovered weighing scales, a large number of empty snap bags and £2,000 in cash.
When Wing himself was searched, a large kitchen knife was found concealed in his jacket pocket.
The charges
Wing pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession with intent to supply ketamine, possession with intent to supply cannabis, and possession of a knife in a public place.
Sergeant Andrew Carver said: “This case highlights our commitment to tackling drug-related crime and ensuring that those who seek to profit from illegal activities face the consequences of their actions. We will continue to work tirelessly to make our communities safer.”
