A Wrexham man has been sentenced to prison for his involvement in Class A drug supply as part of a County Lines operation. 📱💊
Bailey Geddes, 23, of Churton Road, Wrexham, appeared before Mold Crown Court on Thursday (May 1) for sentencing after previously admitting to being concerned in the supply of cocaine and heroin between January and March this year.
The court heard that Merseyside Police led Operation Gasket to infiltrate County Lines gangs dealing out of the Liverpool area, focusing on “graft phones” used to advertise drugs to users.
Police raided Geddes’ home in March, recovering two phones—one smashed in half with the SIM card discarded—along with cocaine and a cutting agent. Messages from both phones revealed an “active line” with “bulk” messages using drug supply terminology from December 2024.
On February 24, a new number was advertised and activated two days later in the Caia Park area, again offering cocaine and heroin. The operation was believed to be “orchestrated” by Liverpool-based drug gangs.
Geddes has six previous convictions between 2017 and 2024 for various offences including robbery and assault.
Defence counsel Joshua Gorst explained that Geddes turned to drug dealing after losing his job at a food factory while supporting his partner through a difficult pregnancy. Struggling to receive benefits, he sought this illegal means to support his family.
Judge Simon Mills emphasised that drugs cause “appalling harm” to communities and “destroy lives,” stating: “I see people in the dock every day whose lives have been smashed to pieces by Class A drugs and dealers. Wrexham is devastated by people coming to the area to sell drugs.”
Geddes was sentenced to three years and four months imprisonment.
