A 27-year-old Wrexham man has been sentenced to three years and eight months in prison after admitting to dealing Class A drugs following his release from jail. 💊

Ellis Davies, of Bryn Hafod, pleaded guilty at Caernarfon Crown Court to being concerned in the supply of cocaine and heroin, as well as cultivating cannabis plants at his home.

The court heard that police searched Davies’ property on November 26 last year, discovering heroin worth up to £2,720, along with cocaine and two cannabis plants being grown under lamps.

Prosecutors revealed that CCTV footage from a Co-op store showed Davies purchasing a top-up voucher for a “graft” mobile phone used to send “flare messages” advertising drugs to potential customers.

Defence solicitor Philip Tully told the court that Davies had been “extremely foolish” and had turned to drug dealing after becoming temporarily homeless following his prison release.

Mr Tully added that the father-of-two hopes to train as a plumber upon his release and has been experiencing anxiety while awaiting sentencing since January.

During sentencing, Judge Timothy Petts told Davies: “Clearly there are better ways to deal with homelessness” than to deal in Class A drugs which cause “significant damage to people and their communities.”
