A Wrexham woman has been jailed for two years and nine months after admitting to an unprovoked attack with a broken glass bottle.

Cassie Evans, 34, of Watery Road, struck a man to the neck with a piece of glass during the incident on Lord Street, Wrexham, which occurred shortly after 7pm on 18 August.

The victim was taken to hospital where he received treatment for his injuries.

Evans admitted charges of wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon at Mold Crown Court today, Monday 3 November. She was also issued a five-year restraining order to protect the victim.

North Wales Police Civilian Investigator Ann Parry said: “This was a shocking and disturbing incident that happened in a public place, that could have had fatal consequences for the victim.

“Such violence has no place in our streets, and we acted swiftly to arrest Evans and to recover the weapon involved.

“We remain committed to keeping our communities safe and will continue working tirelessly to prevent incidents like this.”
