Families have been left “devastated” after numerous gravestones were destroyed during a vandal attack at Connah’s Quay Cemetery in Flintshire.
Local councillor David Richardson discovered the damage on Saturday morning after being alerted by affected families. “It’s not only disgusting, it’s upsetting,” he said. “I just don’t see why you would want to do that.”
“When I first arrived there I could see half-a-dozen people stood at graves. It upset me to see family members with tears in their eyes,” Richardson added, who represents the Golftyn ward in Connah’s Quay.
North Wales Police has confirmed the incident has caused widespread distress in the community and is appealing for witnesses to come forward with any information. 🚔
