Two men have been sentenced to six weeks in prison after stealing from shops in Cardiff city centre.
James White, 52, of Ely, admitted stealing £220 worth of skincare products from Boots in Central Square, Cardiff. Jason Sultana, 44, of Butetown, pleaded guilty to stealing more than £260 worth of toys from Waterstones and the Entertainer.
Both were arrested by the Cardiff Bay Neighbourhood Team and sentenced at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on 21 February.
Inspector Gareth Handy, Cardiff Bay Neighbourhood Team, said: “Swift and professional work by officers resulted in these offenders being arrested.
“Shoplifting has a real impact on local businesses and the wider community, and we will continue to take firm action against those who commit these crimes.”
