Swansea Man Jailed for Historic Child Sexual Offences

A 37-year-old man from Swansea has been sentenced to four years and four months in prison after pleading guilty to multiple historic sexual offences against a child. ⚖️

James Thomas, from Morriston, committed the offences when his victim was between 14-15 years old. The crimes took place over a six-month period.

Thomas pleaded guilty to two counts of engaging in non-penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13-15, one count of causing/inciting the victim to engage in sexual activity, and three counts of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13-15.

Detective Constable Amy Davies said: “James Thomas took advantage of a child and knew that what he was doing was illegal. His offences were completely unacceptable. We commend the bravery of the victim in coming forward to report the offences, which cannot have been easy for her. If you have been the victim of any kind of sexual offence, do not suffer in silence. Report it to us via 101 and specially-trained officers will be able to support you.
