A 35-year-old man who persistently flouted a court order designed to protect children has been sentenced to almost four years behind bars.
Luke Stanley, of Despenser Road, Sully, was handed a 47-month prison term at Newport Crown Court after admitting eight breaches of a sexual harm prevention order and one count of failing to comply with sex offender notification requirements.
Background
The order had been imposed on December 14, 2023, after Stanley admitted attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity. For that offence, he received a 22-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, along with 160 hours of unpaid work.
The breaches
Despite the restrictions placed on him, Stanley concealed a Samsung Galaxy S9 mobile phone from police officers and opened Snapchat accounts in breach of the conditions set out in his order.
Sentencing
Judge Carl Harrison jailed Stanley for 47 months.
