Sad news from Cardiff as a runner has tragically passed away after completing the Cardiff Half Marathon. 🏃♂️💔
Organisers Run 4 Wales confirmed that medical teams attended to the runner at the finish line before they were rushed to the University Hospital of Wales. Unfortunately, despite best efforts, the runner later died.
A spokesman for Run 4 Wales stated: “This is a terrible tragedy and our deepest sympathies go out to the runner’s family.”
This year’s event was described as the “biggest ever year” with an impressive 29,000 participants signing up to take part.
Our thoughts are with the runner’s loved ones during this difficult time.
