A 27-year-old man has been sentenced to two years in prison after admitting to intentionally strangling a teenage girl in Rhyl. 👮‍♂️

Connor Gressley-Jones, of Bath Street, Rhyl, was jailed at Mold Crown Court on Thursday, 10 April. He was also issued a five-year restraining order to protect the victim.

The court heard that on 24 January, the teenage girl was walking back to a hotel in Rhyl when Gressley-Jones punched her in the face following an argument. He then placed his hands around her neck and strangled her, restricting her breathing.

District Support Sergeant Peter Griffiths said: “Violent and inexcusable behaviour towards women will not be tolerated. The victim has shown considerable bravery in coming forward to report what happened to her following a traumatic and terrifying experience. We continue to act on any report of violence against women, and we will not stop in our efforts to bring perpetrators to justice.”4rh
