A convicted paedophile has been jailed after he exposed himself and masturbated in the street whilst filming himself on his mobile phone. 📱⚖️

Aaron Stenning, 37, of Cardiff Road, Abercynon, returned home at around 3am on July 31 following birthday celebrations in a state of intoxication. He proceeded to pull his shirt over his head and expose himself before masturbating in the street, recording the act on his phone.

Whilst no one was present, Stenning was caught on CCTV which was viewed the following day, leading to his arrest.

Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court heard on Friday that Stenning had previously been convicted of possessing category A indecent images of children and extreme pornographic images. He had been made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and given 20 months imprisonment, suspended for 24 months.

On August 8, officers discovered Stenning had created a social media account under a different name, breaching his SHPO as he had failed to notify police of the account.

Stenning pleaded guilty to exposure and breach of a SHPO.

In mitigation, barrister Andrew Davies said his client had experienced a “difficult childhood” after his mother died when he was 11 years old, had no contact with his biological father, and later suffered the death of his grandmother with whom he had lived.

The court heard Stenning described his offence as a “kink” and enjoyed being naked in public, but understands he cannot do it again. He is now unable to remain in the area where he lived due to his offending.

Judge Vanessa Francis sentenced Stenning to a total of 15 weeks imprisonment.
