Newport woman fined £428 for having no TV licence

A 57-year-old woman from Newport has been hit with a hefty bill after being caught without a television licence.

Kerry Seal, of Maugham Close, appeared before Derby Justice Centre on Monday, February 10, where she was found guilty of using or installing a television set without a valid licence.

Seal was handed a £220 fine for the offence. On top of that, she was ordered to pay £120 in costs along with an £88 surcharge – bringing her total bill to £428.
